    Mathematics and philosophy are two words with different meanings and the same thing. With various historical evidence, mathematics as the basis of science is not part of or born from philosophy. In the same position in knowledge, mathematics confirm the answers to intimate problem in philosophy. Often there is confusion in philosophy because of conflicting concepts with one another. Mathematics without philosophy does not move swiftly, because without the meanings that are sometimes driven by philosophy. Logically, truth is not well developed in evidence except when mathematics and philosophy get long. It is to provide an understanding of the need for a foundation of truth thought, which generally reveals in the comprehension of mathematics, namely in meta-mathematics and philosophy

    Enhancing Performance of Parallel Self-Organizing Map on Large Dataset with Dynamic Parallel and Hyper-Q

    Self-Organizing Map (SOM) is an unsupervised artificial neural network algorithm. Even though this algorithm is known to be an appealing clustering method,many efforts to improve its performance are still pursued in various research works. In order to gain faster computation time, for instance, running SOM in parallel had been focused in many previous research works. Utilization of the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) as a parallel calculation engine is also continuously improved. However, total computation time in parallel SOM is still not optimal on processing large dataset. In this research, we propose a combination of Dynamic Parallel and Hyper-Q to further improve the performance of parallel SOM in terms of faster computing time. Dynamic Parallel and Hyper-Q are utilized on the process of calculating distance and searching best-matching unit (BMU), while updating weight and its neighbors are performed using Hyper-Q only. Result of this study indicates an increase in SOM parallel performance up to two times faster compared to those without using Dynamic Parallel and Hyper-Q

    Sustainable Learning Environment by Mobile-Assisted Language Learning Methods on the Improvement of Productive and Receptive Foreign Language Skills:A Comparative Study for Asian Universities

    In this comparative study, we investigated different influential factors of mobile-assisted language learning (MALL) for improving productive and receptive language learning skills. To do this, 100 scientific research papers were selected from the top and high-quality journals based on the implications of MALL in higher education language learning. Eight papers were selected according to the specific criteria to categorize the results based on language skills interpretation and technological concepts. Therefore, after thoroughly understanding proposed methodologies and comparing them properly, underlying assumptions about this phenomenon are elaborated, and holistic and sustainable solutions are provided to address this idea. The results of this analysis indicated that Mobile devices are being utilized extensively in developing countries, with vocabulary being the primary language learning area assisted by technology and yielding satisfactory results. According to the findings of this comparative study, LINE and WhatsApp would be of interest among university students to improve receptively (listening and reading) and productivity (writing and speaking), respectively. Moreover, the technology acceptance model (TAM) would be a prominent option for teachers to adapt their current and future educational programs instead of only in-person teaching to improve students’ learning quality

Informasi yang memiliki relevansi dan bernilai strategis serta akurat dibutuhkan dan digunakan di berbagai jenis keperluan baik untuk kebutuhan pribadi dan keperluan usaha atau bisnis serta di pemerintahan. Salah satu produk dari teknologi informasi adalah sistem informasi berbasis website. Pemanfaatan website menjadi salah satu cara untuk mempromosikan produk dan potensi dari suatu daerah atau desa. Dengan website yang dapat diakses secara daring, informasi yang disebarkan dapat menjangkau seluruh lapisan masyarakat di berbagai belahan dunia terkait dengan produk dan potensi yang ada pada desa. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, desa Liang Muda yang terletak di kecamatan STM Hulu kabupaten Deli Serdang provinsi Sumatera Utara, perlu memanfaatkan penggunaan website sebagai media informasi dan promosi untuk masyarakat di desa Liang Muda dan juga untuk masyarakat di luar dari desa Liang Muda baik di dalam negeri maupun di luar negeri. Kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan sumber daya manusia di desa Liang Muda dalam pemanfaatan website dan juga memajukan dan meningkatkan perekonomian desa secara berkala

    Fabrication of the novel hybridized AZ31B Mg/CeO2+ZrO2 composites via multiple pass friction stir processing

    The mixture of the rare-earth CeO2 and ZrO2 particulates was used for fabricating the hybridized AZ31BMg/(CeO2+ZrO2)p composites by utilizing friction stir processing with a multiple-tool pass strategy. The structure, mechanical properties (tensile strength and hardness), tribological performances (wear properties) and corrosion behaviours of the hybrid composites were examined. The findings reveal the elimination of tunnel-like defects and clustering of the CeO2+ZrO2 particles in the composite after the multiple passes of the tool due to the successive mechanical stirring-assisted material flow. The rise in the tool passes reduced the mean grain sizes (7.91–3.02 μm), the particle sizes (5.47–2.28 μm), the average friction coefficient (0.45–0.18) and the specific wear rate (4.26 × 10−5–2.17 × 10−5 mm3/Nm) of the composite. The tensile strength (172–239 MPa), and the corrosion performance of the hybrid composite were also improved via the multiple tool pass strategy. Multiple tool pass is thus recommended for the fabrication of Mg-based hybrid composites
